1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the services provided by Lux Barbers, a barbershop located in Leatherhead, Surrey, United Kingdom. By booking an appointment, walking into our premises, or using our website, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms in full.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (the "Client") and Lux Barbers ("we", "us", "our"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please refrain from using our services.
These Terms apply to all clients, including walk-ins, online bookings, and clients referred by third parties.
2. Appointments & Bookings
Lux Barbers accepts appointments via our online booking system, phone, in-person, or through authorised third-party booking platforms. Bookings are subject to availability and are not confirmed until you receive a written or verbal confirmation from us.
- Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.
- Late arrivals of more than 10 minutes may result in a shortened service or rescheduling at our discretion.
- Walk-in clients are welcome but served subject to barber availability on the day.
- We reserve the right to decline or reschedule any appointment if a barber is unavailable due to illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances.
- Appointment slots are allocated per service. If you wish to add additional services, please inform us at the time of booking so adequate time can be allocated.
3. Cancellations & No-Shows
We understand that plans can change. We ask all clients to give us as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, as our barbers' time is a precious resource.
- Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance will incur no charge.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment may be subject to a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the booked service value.
- Clients who fail to attend without prior notice (no-shows) may be charged the full cost of the missed appointment and may be required to pay a deposit on future bookings.
- Repeated cancellations or no-shows may result in Lux Barbers declining to accept future bookings from that client.
- Deposits, where taken, are non-refundable in the event of a no-show or late cancellation unless exceptional circumstances apply, at our sole discretion.

4. Our Services
Lux Barbers offers a range of premium barbering and grooming services in Leatherhead. We aim to deliver consistent, high-quality results on every visit. The following conditions apply to all services:
- All services are performed by trained and experienced barbers. Service outcomes may vary depending on individual hair type, texture, and condition.
- Clients are responsible for clearly communicating their desired style, length, and finish prior to the service commencing. We encourage the use of reference photos where helpful.
- Lux Barbers cannot be held responsible for results that differ from expectations if insufficient or unclear instructions were provided.
- We reserve the right to refuse or modify a service if, in our professional judgement, it may cause harm to the client's hair or scalp, or if the requested style is not achievable with the client's existing hair.
- All tools, equipment, and products used at Lux Barbers are professionally maintained and sanitised in accordance with industry hygiene standards.
- Product recommendations made by our barbers are advisory only. We are not responsible for reactions to products purchased or used independently.
5. Pricing & Payment
All prices for services at Lux Barbers are displayed in our barbershop in Leatherhead and on our website. Prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
- Prices are subject to change without prior notice. The price charged will be the price applicable at the time of your appointment.
- We accept payment by cash, major debit and credit cards, and contactless payment. We do not accept cheques.
- Payment is due upon completion of service. We do not offer credit facilities.
- Gratuities for our barbers are entirely at the client's discretion and are greatly appreciated but never expected.
- Any deposit paid at the time of booking will be deducted from the final service total on the day of your appointment.
- Promotional offers, discounts, and loyalty rewards cannot be combined unless explicitly stated.
6. Client Conduct
Lux Barbers is committed to providing a welcoming, safe, and comfortable environment for all clients and staff. We expect all clients to conduct themselves respectfully whilst on our premises.
- Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or inappropriate behaviour towards staff or other clients will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
- Any client behaving in an unacceptable manner will be asked to leave the premises immediately and may be refused future services.
- Lux Barbers operates a zero-tolerance policy on harassment, including verbal, physical, or sexual harassment.
- Clients are responsible for any damage caused to our property through negligent or deliberate action and may be liable for the cost of repair or replacement.
- The use of mobile phones during a service is discouraged as it can interfere with the barber's work. We appreciate your cooperation.
7. Health & Safety
The health and safety of our clients and staff is our highest priority. The following conditions apply to all visits to Lux Barbers:
- Clients must inform their barber of any known scalp conditions, allergies, skin sensitivities, or relevant medical conditions prior to the service beginning.
- Lux Barbers reserves the right to decline service to any client if, in the barber's professional judgement, proceeding could pose a risk to the client's or barber's health and safety.
- If a client is feeling unwell, particularly with symptoms of a contagious illness, we kindly ask that you reschedule your appointment to protect our barbers and other clients.
- All cutting tools including scissors, clippers, and razors are sanitised between every client in accordance with best practice barbering hygiene standards.
- Lux Barbers complies with all relevant UK health and safety legislation, including The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and applicable local regulations in Surrey.
- In the event of an allergic reaction or adverse response to a product or service, clients should inform their barber immediately so appropriate action can be taken.
8. Liability
Whilst Lux Barbers takes every reasonable care to provide a safe and professional service, our liability is limited as follows:
- Lux Barbers shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from the failure of a client to disclose relevant health or allergy information prior to a service.
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with the provision of our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific service in question.
- Lux Barbers accepts no liability for any personal belongings left unattended on our premises. Clients are responsible for their own property at all times.
- Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK law.
- We are not responsible for dissatisfaction with a hairstyle that was completed in accordance with the client's own instructions.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
9. Privacy & Data Protection
Lux Barbers is committed to protecting your personal data in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- We collect personal information such as your name, phone number, and email address for the purpose of managing appointments and communicating with you about your bookings.
- Your personal data will never be sold to third parties. It may be shared with booking platform providers solely for the purpose of managing your appointment.
- By providing your contact details, you consent to receiving appointment confirmations and reminders via SMS or email.
- You have the right to access, rectify, or request deletion of your personal data held by us at any time. To exercise these rights, please contact us directly.

10. Minors
Lux Barbers welcomes clients of all ages. However, the following conditions apply when services are provided to clients under the age of 16:
- Clients under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of their appointment.
- A parent or guardian must provide explicit consent for any service to be carried out on a minor.
- The parent or guardian is responsible for communicating the desired style on behalf of the minor and accepts the Terms on their behalf.
- Payment for services provided to minors is the responsibility of the accompanying parent or guardian.
- Lux Barbers reserves the right to refuse service to an unaccompanied minor under the age of 16.
11. Complaints & Redress
At Lux Barbers, we take client satisfaction extremely seriously. If you are not satisfied with any aspect of your experience, we want to hear from you.
- Complaints should be raised with a member of staff at the time of your visit wherever possible, as this gives us the best opportunity to resolve the issue promptly.
- If you wish to raise a complaint after your visit, please contact us within 7 days of your appointment by phone or email so we can investigate fully.
- We aim to acknowledge all complaints within 2 business days and provide a full response within 7 business days.
- Where a complaint is upheld, we may offer a complimentary service correction, partial refund, or goodwill gesture at our discretion.
- Refunds will only be considered where the service was demonstrably not carried out to a reasonable professional standard and the opportunity to correct the issue has been provided.
